A hit-and-run crash killed a 65-year-old man in west Phoenix (Phoenix, AZ)

A 65-year-old man lost his life following a hit-and-run accident in west Phoenix on Saturday.

Phoenix police mentioned that the pedestrian was hit by as SUV at about 11:45 p.m. On arrival, officers located the man in the roadway with critical injuries and they later declared the victim dead. Authorities did not reveal the identity of the deceased at this time. Bystanders informed the police that the man was crossing the street when an SUV struck him and fled from the scene. Police is searching for the suspect driver.

The authorities will continue to investigate the cause of the fatal collision.
