A hit-and-run crash killed a 51-year-old man in Kent (Kent, WA)

On early Saturday morning, a 51-year-old man lost his life following an auto-pedestrian accident in Kent.

Officers quickly responded to the area of Central Avenue North and South 228th Street at around 4:30 a.m. after getting reports of a hit-and-run crash. On arrival, responders found the pedestrian unconscious. Despite the life-saving measures, the man succumbed to his injuries at the scene.

According to the eyewitnesses, the victim, from Kent, was in a clearly marked crosswalk when he got hit by a vehicle. The witness added that the driver may have disregarded a red light. Officers found a vehicle a short distance from the crash site that is believed to be the one that struck the pedestrian. The driver had left the scene. No other details are available.

The incident remains under active review.
