On Saturday afternoon, a woman lost her life following a hit-and-run crash in Phoenix.

As per the initial information, authorities received information that a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle at 59th Avenue and Palm Lane at about 3 p.m. On arrival, responding officers found the injured woman in the roadway. She was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The early reports showed that the involved vehicle fled the scene after the collision, but was found abandoned nearby. Authorities are trying to identify and locate the driver. The roadway was closed during the investigation. No other details are available.

The incident remains under active review.
