A hit-and-run accident injured 1 person on Highway 101 near Alvin Avenue (Santa Maria, CA)

On Tuesday morning, a person received injuries following a hit-and-run accident on Highway 101 near Alvin Avenue.

As per the California Highway Patrol, the incident took place on Southbound Highway 101 north of Alvin Avenue overcrossing at about 5:15 a.m. According to reports, the driver of a southbound Honda Civic noticed headlights approaching when the driver tried to avoid the crash, but the right front of the Honda struck the right front of a Ford Focus.

On arrival, paramedics took the Honda driver to a nearby hospital with minimal injuries. CHP confirmed that the Ford driver left the scene after the crash. The identity of the injured victim remains undisclosed at this time.

The crash remains under investigation.
