A high-speed multi-vehicle pile-up killed 3 people and injured 2 others in Burbank (Burbank, CA)

On early Wednesday morning, a multi-vehicle pile-up in Burbank claimed the lives of three people and caused injuries to two others, authorities said.

According to the initial information, the wreck was reported at around 12:15 a.m. near the intersection of Andover Drive and Glenoaks Boulevard involving three cars. The impact of the collision broke one of the vehicles in half. Multiple parked vehicles were also struck in the process.

Three people in a Volkswagen were declared deceased at the scene, a police spokesperson confirmed. A fourth occupant and the Kia’s driver were taken to a hospital with unknown injuries. A police spokesperson stated that speed played a role in the crash. No arrests or citations have been made as of this moment. The identities of all the victims involved in the wreck remain undisclosed.

An investigation is ongoing at this time.
