A high speed crash killed two people in Palmdale (Palmdale, CA)

On early Sunday morning, a high speed crash claimed the lives of two people in Palmdale.

As per the initial information, the fatal car accident took place at the intersection of Division Street and Avenue Q at around 2:45 a.m. The preliminary reports showed that a woman was driving a gray 2006 Saturn Ion at a high rate of speed while going westbound on Avenue Q, when she reportedly lost control of the car and plowed into a dirt berm.

The impact of the crash caused her car to flip over. Eyewitnesses stopped to render aid and called emergency services. The Los Angeles County Fire Department immediately responded to the scene and provided medical attention to the driver and her male passenger.

Both were then rushed to a local hospital, where both succumbed to their injuries. Division Street was shut down between Carolside Avenue and Corporate Court to give way to the investigation. It opened back again at around 7 a.m. It is unknown if alcohol or drugs contributed to the crash.

An investigation is ongoing.
