On Wednesday night, one woman in her 50s lost her life and another suffered injuries following a head-on collision in the Conroe area.
Reports showed that the crash involved a Harley-Davidson bike and a Chevy truck. Officers quickly responded to the crash scene at about 7:37 p.m. on FM 1484 near Ike White Road. On arrival, officials found one person dead and another injured at the scene. Medics airlifted the injured person to a hospital for treatment.
The deceased was described as a woman in her 50s riding a Harley-Davidson and her passenger was also identified as a female. The injured victim underwent surgery at HCA Houston Healthcare Conroe. The Texas Department of Public Safety reported that a 28-year-old man was driving a 2014 Chevrolet 2500 work vehicle down FM 1484 just past Ike White when he crossed into an oncoming lane and hit the motorbike head on.
He experienced a drug test and was found to not be impaired, police said. Authorities blocked FM 1484 until midnight. Both people on the motorcycle were wearing helmets at the time of the accident.
An investigation is ongoing at this time.
