On Sunday, a woman lost her life and her 15-year-old daughter suffered serious injuries following a head-on accident in north Harris County.
The fatal incident took place at about 2:30 p.m. near Ella Boulevard and FM 1960. The Harris County Sheriff’s Office mentioned that a mother and her 15-year-old daughter were going northbound on Ella in a white Kia Optima when she tried to avoid striking a pickup truck that was pulling out of a subdivision.
As per reports, the woman was able to avoid hitting the truck, but she lost control of her car. She reportedly crossed the center lane and drove towards oncoming traffic in the southbound lanes. The Kia then collided head-on with a Chevrolet Equinox which was being driven by a woman in her 60s.
On arrival, medics rushed the 60-year-old Chevrolet Equinox driver to the hospital in critical condition. Officials declared the woman driving the Kia deceased. Her daughter was flown to Memorial Hermann Hospital by Life Flight and is also in critical condition. As of now, officials are trying to find the driver of the white Chevrolet pickup that was leaving the subdivision off of Ella Crossings and Ella at that time.
