A head-on collision on Highway 246 left a 70-year-old passenger in hospital (Santa Barbara County, CA)

On Saturday afternoon, a 70-year-old passenger was airlifted to a hospital with severe lower-body injuries following a head-on collision on Highway 246.

The two-vehicle crash in Santa Barbara County took place on Highway 246 at Campbell Road, between Lompoc and Buellton just after 4 p.m. on July 3. On arrival, the 70-year-old passenger was flown to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital by the EMS.

Two other passengers also received minor injuries as a result of the crash. It is not clear which vehicles were involved in the two-vehicle accident. No other details are immediately available at this time and the identities of the injured victims remain undisclosed.

Authorities will continue to investigate the cause of the crash.
