A golf cart rolled on its side, leaving two children with injuries (Valley Center, CA)

Two children received injuries after a crash on a North County street on Sunday afternoon.

As per the initial information, the rollover accident was reported at about 2:25 p.m. on Cerveza Baja Drive near Mountain Meadow Road in the Deer Springs area, west of Valley Center. The preliminary reports showed that a golf cart having six passengers, all under the age of 18, crashed and flipped over.

For unknown reasons, the driver of the golf cart lost control and rolled the cart on its side. One person was pinned underneath the cart and the other five were thrown from the vehicle due to the impact.

The person trapped under the cart sustained major injuries and was airlifted to a hospital. A second person incurred minor injuries and was transported to a hospital by ambulance. The rest of the passengers were released to their parents. No other details are available.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
