On Wednesday morning, minor injuries were reported following a fiery multi-car accident on westbound I-80.
As per the initial information, five cars were involved in the wreck and at least two of them reportedly burst into flames due to the crash. The preliminary reports showed that the incident led to only minor injuries.
Officials closed a portion of westbound I-80 near USA Parkway as crews worked at the scene. The roadway has reopened at this time but traffic is still moving slowly in the area, authorities stated. The events that have led up to the collision remain unknown at this time.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
