A two-vehicle accident on I-20 Eastbound at the state line caused minor injuries.
As per the initial information, a tanker truck caught fire after the collision. The preliminary reports showed that the incident involved a car and an 18-wheeler with two occupants in the car and one in the 18-wheeler. One victim was treated at the scene but there were no major injuries.
Authorities still need to assess the bridge to confirm if it is safe and all chemicals are cleaned up from the scene. I-20 Eastbound was shut down and officials asked the motorists to adopt an alternate route.
An investigation into the crash is continuing.
