A fiery crash killed 4 people and injured 9 others on Loop 202 in Phoenix (Phoenix, AZ)

On Wednesday night, officials closed Loop 202 Red Mountain in Phoenix after a fiery accident that killed four people and caused injuries to nine others.

The fatal incident took place on the eastbound side at 52nd Street wherein multiple vehicles were involved, including a semi-truck hauling a tanker. Phoenix Fire reported that firefighters found a milk truck involved in the crash leaking milk and diesel fuel along with a fire burning in one of the other vehicles involved in the crash.

According to authorities, 4 people lost their lives at the scene. On arrival, medics rushed nine people to nearby hospitals, including six people with major injuries and three others with non-critical injuries. Multiple ambulances and fire trucks from Phoenix, Scottsdale, Tempe, and Mesa responded to the crash scene.

An investigation is continuing.
