A fatal wrong-way crash killed three people on Loop 101 in Glendale (Glendale, AZ)

On early Sunday morning, a fatal wrong-way collision shut down the Loop 101 Agua Fria northbound at Camelback Road, the DPS said.

The incident took place at about 2:30 a.m. on May 2 when a car heading south crashed into a car driving in the opposite direction on the northbound lanes. A man and a woman in the northbound car and the suspected wrong-way driver all succumbed to their injuries.

Following which, a third driver collided with the other two cars and sustained minimal injuries, while a fourth car on the other side of the freeway got damaged by debris from the crash. As of now, authorities have not yet identified victims involved in the wreck. The freeway was blocked for several hours for the investigation, but has since reopened for traffic.
