A fatal three-vehicle accident killed a 78-year-old man on Weedpatch Highway and Wilson Road (Bakersfield, CA)

A 78-year-old man died in a deadly crash on Weedpatch Highway and Wilson Road on Sunday night.

The California Highway Patrol reported that a 78-year-old Arvin man was driving a pickup truck. Then, he stopped in the area of Weedpatch Highway and Wilson Road. When the driver took a turn, he pulled in front of the big rig and caused a collision. Consequently, the impact sent the big rig into an oncoming SUV. The impact ejected the pickup driver from his vehicle and he died on the spot.

On the other hand, a 29-year-old woman and a 5-year-old boy in the SUV suffered serious injuries. Currently, authorities did not disclose their condition.

The incident is under investigation.
