NHP promptly responded to the scene of a deadly hit-and-run crash including a tow truck driver on I-215 westbound near Decatur.
Furthermore, authorities reported that a vehicle hit the man while he was working on the shoulder. The incident happened at around 7:47 p.m.
NHP Trooper Travis Smacka said that the suspect vehicle was going westbound on 215 approaching Jones. Simultaneously, for unknown reasons, it deviated into the right shoulder and hit both the tow truck driver and his vehicle. Afterwards, medics transported the victim to UMC Trauma. However, he succumbed from his injuries.
