On Thursday morning, at least one person died in a crash on the I-10 Katy Freeway.
According to reports, the fatal incident took place in the westbound lanes at Barker Cypress just before 5:45 a.m. Officials closed the main lanes of the freeway for more than three hours as responders worked to clear the wreckage.
Traffic was diverted from all main lanes onto Eldridge Road and delays were expected due to heavy blockage on the feeder road. Reports revealed that a white SUV and an 18-wheeler seemed to be involved in the accident.
The authorities will continue to investigate the cause that led to the crash.
