A fatal car crash killed one person and hospitalized three others on East Side (San Antonio, TX)

A fatal car crash claimed life of a man and hospitalized three others, including a 2-year-old child, San Antonio police say.

The incident occurred in the 2600 block of Rigsby Avenue on Wednesday evening. As per police, an 80-year-old man was driving out of a side street near Covington and Rigsby Avenue when a silver car T-boned him. The 80-year-old man died at the scene. The silver car was having four people in it at the time of the accident.

Medics rushed three of the passengers in the car to an area hospital, including a 2-year-old who was in serious condition. At one point during the incident, the silver car caught fire, police said. Authorities closed down Rigsby Avenue in both directions. It will remain closed as police investigate and clear the scene.

The crash is under review.
