On Wednesday afternoon, Washington State Patrol says that a fatal car crash that happened 15 miles west of Colfax killed one person and injured another.
The vehicle went off the road and rolled into a field along SR 26 near milepost 118. The driver of the vehicle died on scene while the passenger was flown to a Spokane hospital through air ambulance. WSP mentions that the roadway is currently open but advises drivers to be aware of officers initiating their investigation in the affected area.
After a car veered off the road and flipped into a field, Washington State Patrol reports that both the driver and the passenger have been killed. At about 1:00 in the afternoon, the car drove off the road and flipped over several times before coming to rest upside down. The passenger died on the spot and the driver was rushed to Sacred Heart Medical Center where he later succumbed to his injuries as well.
WSP did not release the names of the driver and passenger, but say that both are male and the passenger was a 19 years old boy. The driver was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of crash and was thrown off from the car during the rollover.
An investigation is continuing.
