On Monday, a male pedestrian was left in serious condition following a DUI hit-and-run accident on Anaheim Street.
The authorities received information about the crash at around 12:30 a.m. at the Obispo Avenue intersection. The officers quickly responded to the crash scene and found the victim with injuries in his upper and lower body.
The Long Beach Fire Department paramedics rushed him to a hospital with serious injuries. The suspect driver sped away from the scene but returned after one hour. The officers detained him on suspicion of hit-and-run and driving under the combined influence of alcohol and drugs.
