On Sunday night, a DUI accident claimed the life of Andres Garcia while police took 25-year-old Raul De Robles Jr in custody on 131 West Parkland Drive.
As per the initial information, officers actively responded to the crash scene just after 11 p.m. On arrival, they found that a vehicle plowed completely through the north wall of a mobile home and the vehicle also crashed through the west wall.
Officers discovered a man outside the home who was pinned under the vehicle. The preliminary investigation revealed that the victim was sleeping inside the mobile home when it was hit by the car. Emergency crews rescued the victim and immediately took him to the hospital where he was later declared deceased.
Officers confined that the home was occupied by four people when the incident took place. The authorities detained the car driver, identified as De Robles Jr, who officers say smelled strongly of alcohol. Reports said that De Robles’ breath sample showed a blood alcohol content of .181.
De Robles also admitted t driving while drunk and that he was traveling between 60-65 miles an hour through the trailer court when he ran through the mobile home. De Robles now faces charges of Vehicular Homicide. No other details are available.
An investigation is continuing.
