A driver escapes serious injuries after an SUV goes off 5th floor and crash-lands on 4th floor (Richmond, CA)

On Wednesday morning, no one sustained serious injuries when an SUV went off the 5th floor of the Kaiser Richmond parking garage and crash-landed on the top of cars parked on the 4th floor, police stated.

According to the initial information, the driver of the SUV accelerated by mistake while the vehicle was in drive rather than in reverse, triggering the car to careen off the 5th floor and onto the parking floor underneath.

“Richmond police officers and firefighters were really thankful to see that the driver of the SUV did not receive serious injuries,” police said. It is not known if the victim required hospitalization or not.
