On Tuesday morning, a big rig that struck another big rig from behind and then jackknifed led to the closure of three lanes of the 10 Freeway in Covina-San Dimas area.
The jackknifed semi-truck was going at a high rate of speed when it collided with the other big rig, stated Officer Patrick Kimball of the California Highway Patrol. According to Kimball, officers actively responded at 3:31 a.m. to the 10 Freeway near Via Verde Street.
The crash scene is near Forest Lawn — Covina Hills. Authorities shut down the eastbound No. 3, 4 and 5 lanes, Kimball added. It was not immediately clear if the drivers sustained any injuries as a result of the two-vehicle accident.
