A car stalled in the middle lanes of northbound Interstate 15 in the Grantville area, near Friars Road, was hit by a vehicle and burst into flames at around 5:30 a.m. on Thursday morning.
The California Highway Patrol said that one vehicle struck the disabled car, causing it to catch fire. As per reports, the driver of the disabled car was pinned inside as it began to burn. Bystanders saw the car stalled and motorists helped to pull the driver out of burning car. They pulled the window frame off the car to get to the driver. On arrival, medics transported the driver to the hospital with unknown injuries. Authorities did not report any other injuries as a result of the crash.
An investigation is ongoing.
