A child in critical condition after getting hit by a car in central Las Vegas (Las Vegas, NV)

A child was left in critical condition after being hit by a car in central Las Vegas on Wednesday afternoon.

The early reports showed that the boy was struck by a car at the intersection of Tropicana Avenue and Maryland Parkway at about 12:50 p.m. On arrival, first responders rushed the boy to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center with critical injuries.

It is unclear if the involved driver stayed at the scene or not after the collision. The identity of the injured child remains undisclosed at this time. No further information has been released pertaining to the crash.

The incident remains under active review.
