On Tuesday, a car hit and seriously injured a bicyclist at Hardy Drive and Southern Avenue.
As per the initial information, at around 8 a.m., officers and fire crews actively responded to the area after getting reports of a crash involving a vehicle and a bicyclist. The preliminary reports showed that the vehicle was heading eastbound on Southern Avenue when it struck a bicyclist traveling northbound on the crosswalk on Hardy Drive. The bicyclist, described as a man, was rushed to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.
On the other hand, the driver of the vehicle remained at the scene after the crash. Authorities suspect that impairment seems to have played a part. The eastbound lanes of Southern Avenue are blocked at Margo Drive. Both northbound and southbound traffic on Hardy Drive is being redirected westbound on Southern Avenue. Drivers are urged to avoid the affected area.
