On early Wednesday morning, a woman was left with serious injuries after being hit by a car on Alcoa Highway.
As per the initial information, officers with the Knoxville Police Department actively responded to the area of Alcoa Highway, near the exit ramp to Kingston Pike on reports of a pedestrian crash. The early reports showed that a car heading southbound hit a concrete barrier and came to a stop in the left lane.
Just then, two people stopped in order to help the driver when another car hit a woman who was attempting to help. On arrival, first responders rushed the woman to the University of Tennessee Medical Center for the treatment of serious injuries. The reports further revealed that the crash did not cause any other injuries.
The incident remains under review.
