A car struck and killed a woman on 110 Freeway in Highland Park (Los Angeles, CA)

On early Tuesday, a woman lost her life after being hit by a car while she was walking in the southbound lanes of the 110 Freeway in Highland Park.

As per the initial information, officers actively responded to a portion of the freeway near Via Marisol at 4:28 a.m. after getting reports of an auto-pedestrian collision. On arrival, first responders found a 35-year-old woman lying in the No. 3 lane. The preliminary reports showed that a Toyota Corolla struck the woman for unknown reasons.

The woman received major injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by the officials. The Toyota’s driver, who was not hurt in the accident, remained at the scene and was not detained. The identity of the deceased will be revealed once the next of kin is notified. No other details are available.

An investigation is ongoing.
