A car hit and killed a pedestrian in Dublin (Dublin, CA)

A man lost his life after being struck by a vehicle while crossing Dublin Boulevard near Hansen Drive on Monday.

According to reports, the fatal incident took place at about 9:10 a.m. while the pedestrian was going north on the boulevard. A vehicle turning east onto the boulevard from Hansen Drive fatally hit him. Officers have not confirmed whether the victim was inside or outside of the crosswalk at the time of the accident.

Firefighters provided life-saving assistance but the victim was declared deceased. The driver of the involved car remained at the scene and cooperated with the officers. At this time, drugs or alcohol did not seem to have played a factor in the collision.

An investigation into the crash is continuing.
