A car accident triggers brush fire in Malibu (Malibu, CA)

On Tuesday, a crash involving a car causes a brush fire in Malibu.

As per Franklin Lopez of the Los Angeles County Fire Department, firefighters were sent to Kanan Dune Road and Cavalleri Road near Paradise Cove at around 10:24 p.m. on reports of a vehicle crash that triggered a brush fire.

Fire officials contained the fire by 10:37 p.m. The extent of the fire has not been revealed at this time. The crash victim was rushed to a local hospital by helicopter at 11:25 p.m. and seriousness of his injuries remains unknown. The incident led to traffic in the northbound lanes of Kanan Dune Road to be blocked, but later reopened for traffic after crews cleared the highway.

An investigation is underway.
