A car accident causes power outages in southwest valley (Las Vegas, NV)

On Monday morning, single-car crash has resulted in power outages for several customers in the southwest valley, according to NV Energy.

The outage was reported at about 3:27 a.m. in the Spring Valley area, as per the initial information. LVMPD said that the incident was reported at Spring Mountain Road and Decatur Boulevard. It is unclear what caused the crash and if it led to any injuries.

Just under 300 customers in the area were still without power as of 2:15 p.m. Repair work was going on and restoration was expected by 4:15 p.m. Several smaller outages remained around the Las Vegas valley due to Sunday night’s storm activity. A total of about 2,500 people were left without power as of Monday morning.

The crash remains under active review.
