A big rig crash killed a 24-year-old Red Bluff man on Highway 99 (Red Bluff, CA)

A 24-year-old Red Bluff man lost his life in a fatal big rig crash on Highway 99, north of Cone Grove Road on Saturday.

Authorities reported that the driver of a 2008 Ford was northbound on the highway while 53-year-old Bonnie Eule, a resident of Chico, steering a Freightliner was southbound. The victim tried to pass the vehicle in front of him but hit the left front side of the Freightliner. As of now, officials did not confirm that whether alcohol played a factor in the collision. The two drivers were both wearing seat belts at the time of the accident.

An investigation regarding the incident is continuing.
