California Highway Patrol reported a solo motor vehicle crash in Tulare County that claimed the life of a 74-year-old man.
On Monday around 8:00 p.m., a 74-year-old man, a Springville resident, driving a Chevy Corvette on Balch Park Road near Yokohl Valley Drive, missed a curve, drifted off the road, and overturned, leading the vehicle to catch fire.
The driver of the car was pronounced dead at the scene, and a 29-year-old passenger was transported to the Kaweah Health Medical Center with injuries.
The identity of the victim is not revealed. It is not yet known if alcohol or drugs played a role in the crash. The cause of the fatal crash is still being investigated. There are no other details available at this time.
