On Thursday evening, a 64-year-old woman suffered injuries to her head and one arm following a single-vehicle accident in downtown San Diego.
The incident took place at about 5:20 p.m. on Pacific Highway between West E and West F streets, in the Marina neighborhood of downtown in which an electrical scooter was involved. As per the reports, the woman was traveling south when her Bird scooter struck a crack in the road and she lost control.
The impact of the crash threw her from the scooter. On arrival, emergency crews transported the woman to a hospital for treatment of unspecified head injuries, as well as scrapes and cuts to the skin of her right arm. Officials confirmed that her injuries are not expected to be life-threatening.
An investigation into the crash is underway.
