On Wednesday morning, a motorcycle crash killed a 57-year-old man on Road 236.
The fatal two-vehicle accident took place at about 2:30 a.m. on Road 236, south of Avenue 112. The preliminary investigation showed that a northbound 2008 Chevrolet Cobalt drifted towards the left lane and crashed into a southbound 2006 Harley Davidson.
The Chevrolet driver, identified as 23-year-old Dominic AnayaCasarez, ran from the scene on foot after the accident; however, officers found the suspect about a half-mile away from the scene. On arrival, medics rushed the motorcyclist to Kaweah Delta Medical Center where he later died of his injuries. Officers arrested AnayaCasarez for driving under the influence and hit-and-run.
An investigation is ongoing.
