A 43-year-old Lakeview man died in a motorcycle accident near Kent City (Kent City, MI)

On early Sunday morning, a 43-year-old Lakeview man lost his life after a motorcycle accident in northern Kent County.

As per the initial information, the fatal single-vehicle crash took place at about 2:35 p.m. in Tyrone Township on 17 Mile Road near Tyrone Avenue. The preliminary investigation showed that a 2003 Harley Davidson was traveling east on 17 Mile Road when it veered off the road at a high rate of speed and struck a sign.

The motorcyclist, a 43-year-old man, of Lakeview, was declared deceased at the scene by the officials. The reports further revealed that the motorcyclist was not wearing a helmet at the time of the collision. It is currently unknown if alcohol played a role in the crash. Several surrounding agencies assisted at the scene.
