A 43-year-old Grand Haven woman injured after her car crashes into a tree in Olive Township (Olive Township, MI)

On Saturday night, a 43-year-old Grand Haven woman suffered major injuries after the car she was riding in lost control and hit a tree in Olive Township.

As per the initial information, the single-vehicle accident took place at about 10 p.m. on northbound US-31, south of Bagley Street in Olive Township. The preliminary investigation revealed that a Chevrolet Impala was heading north when the driver, a 23-year-old Grand Haven man, failed to maintain control of the vehicle for unknown reasons.

Then, the car drifted off the roadway and hit a large tree. On arrival, medics rushed the female passenger to a hospital with serious injuries. The man remained uninjured as a result of the collision. No other details are made available.

The crash remains under investigation.
