On Monday, a 33-year-old Lakeview man suffered injuries following a single-vehicle rollover accident in Montcalm County.
As per the initial information, the incident took place at around 7:20 p.m. in the northbound US-131, close to W. Edgar Road in Reynolds Township. The preliminary reports showed that the vehicle was northbound on US-131 when the driver failed to maintain control of the vehicle and it went off the road. The impact caused the vehicle to flip over several times, ejecting the driver from the car in the process.
The man received injuries on his head, arms and legs and was transported to Spectrum Health Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids by Mecosta County Emergency Medical Services. Officials believe that the driver was thrown from his car as he was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the collision. It is believed that speed and weather caused the accident.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
