On Sunday, a 32-year-old man from Kent suffered injuries following a DUI accident on State Route 167 while officers arrested a 29-year-old man from Federal Way, on suspicion of driving under influence.
The single-vehicle crash took place at about 3:00 a.m. on State Route 167. The preliminary reports suggested that four men were traveling north on SR 167 when the vehicle went off the road and struck the guardrail. The impact caused the vehicle to flip onto its side in the median.
On arrival, medics transported one man to Tacoma General Hospital with unknown injuries whereas the two other occupants remained unharmed. Officers later arrested the 29-year-old Federal Way man on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol and he is facing a possible vehicular assault charge. Authorities closed the road for more than four hours as crews worked at the scene.
An investigation is ongoing.
