The California Highway Patrol reported a fatal motor vehicle crash on Interstate 880 that left a 27-year-old from Newark dead on Sunday.
On Sunday roughly at 9:21 p.m., the 27-year-old man driving a 2009 Dodge Charger at high speed behind a Honda vehicle. He lost control and twirled off the right side of Honda.
Then, the Dodge hit the wall on the right shoulder, resulting in a collision with the concrete centre divider. The man was fatally injured and pronounced dead at the scene. CHP officers said that the man was not wearing a seatbelt.
The identity of the victim is not disclosed yet. It is not yet known if alcohol or drugs played a role in the crash. The cause of the fatal crash is still being investigated. No further information is available at the moment.
