A 22-year-old motorcyclist died after he crashed into a building in Long Beach (Long Beach, CA)

A 22-year-old male motorcyclist, a resident of Long Beach died after colliding with a building near the intersection of Atlantic Avenue and 59th Street on Saturday.

Officials actively responded to the incident at around 11:00 a.m. On arrival, they found a 2009 Yamaha R6 that crashed into a building. Medics rushed the biker to a local hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.

As per initial reports, the motorcyclist was going northbound on Atlantic Avenue from South Street when he lost balance and smashed into a building. Officials believed that speed might have played a factor in the deadly wreck while drugs or alcohol did not seem to play a part. Officers will release the identity of the victim after notifying the next of kin.

The authorities continue to investigate the fatal crash.
