A 21-year-old Wyoming man and his passenger died after a single-vehicle crash on 14 Mile Road (Kent County, MI)

On Monday evening, a single-vehicle accident on 14 Mile Road claimed the lives of a 21-year-old Wyoming man and his passenger.

As per the initial information, the fatal incident took place shortly before 6 p.m. on 14 Mile Road, close to Tefft Avenue in Kent County. The preliminary investigation indicated that a 21-year-old man was driving recklessly on 14 Mile Road when he passed a semi-truck on the right shoulder. The man suddenly lost control of the vehicle, went off the road and hit a tree.

The driver died of his injuries at the scene whereas a female passenger was rushed to a hospital with serious injuries where she later died. 14 Mile Road was shut down for several hours after the collision, but is back open now.

An investigation is underway.
