According to the California Highway Patrol, a motor vehicle crash that took place in Foresthill on Tuesday killed a 16-year-old and left a few others injured.
At around 1:00 a.m., a Toyota RAV4 traveling eastbound on Foresthill and Mayflower roads for unknown reasons lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a tree. The 16-year-old who was driving the vehicle was fatally injured and was pronounced dead at the scene. Meanwhile, the other teenagers involved were injured severely.
The identity of the dead is not yet disclosed. It is not yet known if alcohol or drugs played a role in the crash. The cause of the fatal crash is still being investigated. No further information is available at the moment.
