A 16-year-old boy killed after an auto-pedestrian accident in Long Beach; Kevin Chris Dahl arrested (Long Beach, CA)

A 16-year-old Long Beach boy lost his life after being struck by a vehicle in Long Beach while officers arrested 33-year-old Kevin Chris Dahl on suspicion of driving under the influence.

Authorities stated that the boy was crossing the intersection of Los Coyotes Diagonal and Deborah Street when a 2001 Chevrolet Tracker hit him. On arrival, emergency responders performed life saving measures, but the boy succumbed to his injuries at the scene. Reports indicated that he was walking in a marked crosswalk.

The driver of the Chevrolet Tracker was identified by the officers as Kevin Chris Dahl, of Lakewood. Police arrested him and booked him on suspicion of gross vehicular manslaughter and driving under the influence.

The auto-pedestrian crash remains under investigation.
