A 15-year-old girl killed after jumping out of moving car in Harris County (Harris County, TX)

On Monday, a 15-year-old girl form Texas lost her life after the girl jumped out of a moving car while fighting with her mother and was hit by an unknown vehicle.

Harris County deputies actively responded to the crash scene on I-45 at FM 1960 at about 9 p.m. The girl jumped onto the Freeway and was fatally hit by a car that fled the scene after the crash.

On arrival, officials declared the victim deceased. Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez released a statement that the teenager was arguing with her mother when she jumped out of the vehicle. Officers redirected the southbound traffic on I-45.

An investigation is underway.
