Authorities identified 50-year-old James H Sturgill as the man who died of injuries he suffered following a single-vehicle accident on Sunday evening in Tucson.

The fatal motorcycle crash took place at the intersection of North Fairview Avenue and West Wetmore Road. According to the investigation reports, the motorcyclist, James H Sturgill, was heading west on Wetmore Road on a black 2014 Harley-Davidson FLHXS motorcycle.

At some point of time, the motorcycle crashed into a traffic signal pole at a bend in the road.  On arrival, emergency crews rushed the victim to the Banner University Medical Center for treatment of his injuries. James H Sturgill succumbed to his injuries on Tuesday.

According to the authorities, not able to slow down was the main reason that led to the accident. Impairment might have been involved in the crash, officials reported. Officers have not arrested or charged anyone in connection with Sturgill’s death. No other details are immediately available.

An investigation is ongoing.
