On late Sunday night, one person suffered a head injury following a single-vehicle accident on the Northeast Side.
As per the initial information, the motorcycle crash took place shortly after 11 p.m. on Interstate 35 North near Randolph Boulevard and Weidner Road. The preliminary investigation revealed that a male motorcyclist, believed to be in his 40s, traveled off the road and collided with the metal guardrail between the access lanes and main lanes of I-35 North, police said.
On arrival, emergency personnel transported the man to Brooke Army Medical Center with unspecified injuries. He was wearing a helmet, but he sustained a head injury. The identity of the injured victim has not been revealed. No other details are immediately available.
An investigation is ongoing.
