The Huntington Beach Police Department reported a motor vehicle crash on Friday evening. The accident happened at Magnolia St. and Garfield Ave at around 4:40 p.m.
The HBPD claims that 93-years-old Mary Margaret Machulda was operating a Buick Riviera in a northerly direction on Magnolia Street when she made a left turn onto Garfield Avenue in front of a Jeep Wrangler travelling in a southerly direction.
Orange County Sheriff’s Department reports that Fountain Valley resident Machulda passed away at UCI Medical Centre.
The 48-year-old Huntington Beach driver who was the other driver stayed at the scene and was investigated by police. The police stated that he was unharmed.
The Wrangler driver’s impairment did not appear to be a factor in the fatal crash, according to police.
