The California Highway Patrol reported a single-vehicle accident on Tuesday.
The accident occurred on an embankment near Cecilville.
According to the officials, they first received reports of a crash in the area on Monday. The person who reported the accident said that they had climbed down the embankment and found a car with a dead man inside.
The officials along with the Siskiyou County Sheriff’s Office Search and Rescue team were able to retrieve the body of the man on Tuesday.
The man was identified as 92-year-old Alberta Mena who had been reported missing in the Yreka area.
The cause of the fatal accident is still being investigated.
It is unknown whether alcohol or drugs played a role in the accident.
