A tragedy struck last Thursday as a 91-year-old man, Victor Alishoyev, lost his life after being hit by a vehicle while crossing a street in Hayward. The pedestrian accident occurred around 7:46 a.m. on Feb. 8 at the intersection of Hesperian Boulevard and Bartlett Avenue, close to Alishoyev’s residence in a senior living community.
Found unresponsive at the scene, Alishoyev was rushed to the hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries. The driver, a 61-year-old man, remained cooperative with authorities and was unharmed in the fatal crash.
Police investigations suggest that neither drugs nor alcohol played a role in the tragic event. The fatal crash is still being investigated at this time. There are no other details available.
